Product Description
BT65 F15 Whole House Water Filter
Enjoy cleaner, better-tasting water throughout your home with the BT65 F15 Whole House Water Filter.
Installed on the incoming mains water supply, the BT65 filters water before it reaches your kitchen taps, showers, baths and connected household appliances. This provides one central whole-house filtration solution rather than requiring separate filters at individual taps.
With a capacity of up to 650,000 litres or three years, the BT65 provides long-lasting filtration with fewer filter changes. Its high-capacity design is particularly well suited to homes with two to three bathrooms.
The system uses premium silver-impregnated coconut shell granular activated carbon, together with twin sediment riser filters, to improve the taste, smell and general quality of mains drinking water while retaining its naturally occurring minerals.
What contaminants does the BT65 reduce?
Using silver-impregnated coconut shell granular activated carbon and twin sediment riser filters, the BT65 is designed to help reduce substances commonly associated with mains water taste and quality, including:
- Chlorine
- Chlorine-related taste and odour
- Sediment and suspended particles
- Trihalomethanes, also known as THMs
- Many pesticides and herbicides
- Many volatile organic compounds, or VOCs
- Other adsorbable organic compounds that can affect water taste, smell and quality
The BT65 may also help reduce chloramine where present. Chloramine reduction can vary according to the incoming concentration, water flow rate, contact time, water quality and age of the filter media.
The filter retains the naturally occurring dissolved minerals found in mains water.
Does the BT65 remove limescale?
The BT65 is a whole house water filter, not a water softener. It improves water taste and reduces chlorine, sediment and selected organic contaminants, but water filters do not remove the calcium and magnesium responsible for hard water and limescale.
Homes requiring limescale prevention should use a water softener alongside the BT65.

Common questions before you buy
Everything people usually ask before fitting a water filter. Still unsure? Call 0116 276 3334.
Is this a DIY job or do I need a plumber?
Unlike an under-sink filter, the BT65 fits onto your incoming mains near the stopcock, so it's a bigger job than a push-fit under the kitchen sink. A confident DIYer can fit it, and fitting kits are available for both 15mm and 22mm pipework, but plenty of customers prefer to have a plumber connect it. If you're not sure which pipe size you have or where it should go, call us before ordering.
Will it affect my water pressure or flow?
It's built to filter your whole home's supply without a noticeable drop in day-to-day pressure. If you're on a private supply or already have low pressure, give us a call and we'll check it's the right fit.
What does it remove, and does it strip the good minerals?
It reduces chlorine, chloramines and sediment for cleaner, better-tasting water at every tap, and helps reduce heavy metals, pesticides and herbicides. Crucially, it leaves the naturally occurring minerals in your water, so you're not drinking flat, over-stripped water. Want fluoride reduced as well? Choose the Fluoride Reduction Media option above.
How long does it last and what does it cost to run?
Each filter handles up to 650,000 litres or around three years, depending on your water use and quality, so there are no frequent cartridge swaps. For a whole-house system that's a very low running cost compared with fitting filters at multiple points.
