Eliminate Limescale & Slash Energy Bills

Hard water is the silent killer of commercial heating systems, warewashers, and process machinery. Just 1.6mm of scale build-up can reduce heating efficiency by 12%, causing energy bills to skyrocket and equipment to fail prematurely.

Our range of Simplex and Duplex softeners are engineered for heavy-duty environments, utilising market-leading Clack Control Valves for ultimate reliability.

Why Partner with East Midlands Water?

We know you have choices like BWT or generic importers. Here is why UK businesses choose us:

  1. We Are the Manufacturers: We don’t wait for shipments from overseas to fix a problem. We build, test, and service our units in-house.
  2. Human Technical Support: Call us and you speak to an engineer, not a call centre script-reader. We have been solving water problems since 1989.
  3. Tailored Solutions: Need a specific footprint or flow rate? Because we build them, we can modify them.
  4. Spares Availability: From simple O-rings to complex Autotrol and Clack valves, we hold stock so your business doesn't stop.

The main difference is continuity of supply.

  • Simplex (Single Tank): Requires downtime to regenerate (clean itself), usually programmed for the middle of the night. This is fine for businesses that close in the evenings.
  • Duplex (Twin Tank): Designed for 24/7 operation. As one tank regenerates, the other takes over instantly, providing an uninterrupted flow of soft water. This is essential for hotels, care homes, and manufacturing plants that never stop.

Sizing isn't just about the physical space available; it is calculated based on your local water hardness and your peak flow rate (litres per minute). If you buy too small, you'll lose pressure; buy too big, and you waste money on salt.
Because we build our units in-house, we can calculate the exact resin capacity you need. Give our team a call with your pipe size and estimated usage, and we will specify the correct unit.

For industrial applications (like laundry or boiler feed), taste isn't an issue. However, for commercial kitchens or hotels, softened water is perfectly safe to drink, though it has a slightly higher sodium content. We usually recommend keeping a separate "hard water" line for drinking taps or coffee machines, or installing a specific RO system for taste-critical beverages.

RO systems have pre-filters (sediment and carbon) that usually need changing every 3–6 months to protect the main membrane. The RO membrane itself can last 2–4 years depending on water usage and quality. Unlike many importers, East Midlands Water stocks replacement membranes and filters for all our units right here in the UK.

Yes, this is what sets us apart. We have been designing and hand-building water treatment systems in Leicestershire since 1989. This allows us to ensure higher quality control than generic imported "box" systems, and it means we carry every spare part you might need.
