Tannins are a common class of organic compounds found in upland water and will
normally give the water a yellow/brown tint.
In peaty areas such as parts of Ireland and the Highlands the water can be virtually
brown.
Traditional sediment filters are unable to remove this colour contaminant, this not only looks unpleasant but can also cause staining to surfaces and affect the performance of appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines.
On private water supplies it is often the case that bacteria treatment is required in order to create a potable water supply. If too many tannins are present within the supply, this will effective the performance of equipment such as Ultra Violet, that require a certain
level of transmittance in order to operate correctly.
Our Organic scavenger system uses a specially formulated resin that is able to hold on
to these organic compounds, therefore effectively removing them from the water
supply.
The system then periodically automatically flushes these organics to waste using a
brine solution. The resin is then able to continue to produce a tannin free water supply
