Product Description
EML10 10L Digital Meter-Controlled Water Softener
Soft water throughout your home, from a unit small enough to sit under the kitchen sink. The EML10 removes the hardness that causes limescale, so your boiler, taps and appliances are protected and every wash feels softer.
It is a metered softener, which is the efficient kind. Rather than regenerating on a fixed timer, it measures the water you actually use and only regenerates when needed. That means less salt, less water and lower running costs than older clock-based units.
Setup is straightforward thanks to the digital touch control and the free hardness test kit, which tells you exactly how to set it for your water. Once it's dialled in, it looks after itself, with a self-protect programme built in for reliable, long-term operation. One customer's EML10 ran faultlessly for 14 years.

Further Information
Common questions before you buy
Everything people usually ask before fitting a water softener. Still unsure? Call 0116 276 3334.
Will the EML10 fit under my kitchen sink?
At 520mm high, 270mm wide and 430mm deep it fits most standard sink cupboards, which is what it's designed for. Measure your cupboard height first, since the lid needs clearance to add salt. If space is tight, send us your measurements and we'll confirm before you order.
How much salt does it use, and how often do I top it up?
Because regeneration is metered, it only tops up based on the water you actually use rather than on a timer, so salt lasts longer than on older clock-based softeners. Most households add salt every few weeks. It takes standard tablet salt, which you can add to your order.
What does the free hardness test kit do?
It tells you how hard your incoming water is, so you can set the softener to the right level from day one. That's what keeps salt use efficient. Results take a couple of minutes.
Does it need power, and is it safe near water?
It runs on a safe 12V supply through the supplied plug-in transformer, not mains voltage, so there's no mains electricity at the unit itself. You'll need a standard socket within reach of where it's fitted.
Can I fit it myself?
Many customers do, and it connects to standard plumbing. If you'd rather not, add a 15mm or 22mm fitting kit to your order and we can talk you through it, or point you to a local plumber. Call us on 0116 276 3334 if you're unsure what your pipework needs.
