Our family story

Better water has always been personal.

Started by my dad in 1989. Carried forward by me today. Still guided by one simple belief: everyone should feel confident about the water in their home.

A message from Tom

The story behind the name.

It is easy to say you are a family business. For us, it means the same care, honesty and responsibility that the company began with still shape how we work today.

This business was built around a simple belief.

Back in 1989, my dad started East Midlands Water because he believed every family should feel confident about the water in their home.

I left school at 16 to work alongside him, learning the business from the ground up - from the warehouse and the products to speaking with customers and understanding what they actually needed.

Today, I am proud to carry that same mission forward. We still believe advice should be honest, products should be built to last and better water should never feel complicated.

Whether you order online or call us for help, there are real people behind it. We will listen, explain the options clearly and help you choose what is right for your home.

System 40 enters the spotlight.

The Melton Times featured our £1,000 water-softener competition alongside the System 40: a maintenance-free under-sink filter designed to last for three years or 40,000 litres.

The long-life thinking behind today’s System 40 was already taking shape.

The same idea, carried forward.

We now help homes and businesses across the UK with water softeners, filtration and reverse osmosis. We continue to design and hand-build our own filters here in Britain.

The bit that has not changed

What we believe.

Good water treatment is not about selling the biggest system. It is about understanding the problem and getting the answer right.
