Product Description
Harvey Crown F15-3SLT Twin-Tank Non-Electric Block Salt Water Softener
A twin-tank, non-electric water softener that keeps soft water running through your home around the clock, including during regeneration. It runs on mains water pressure alone, so there's no wiring, no batteries and nothing to plug in. Metered regeneration means it only regenerates when needed, keeping salt and water use to a minimum.
Key Features:
- Twin-Tank Design: One tank regenerates while the other supplies soft water, so you're never left with hard water mid-cycle.
- Non-Electric Operation: Powered entirely by mains water pressure. No electrical connection needed and nothing extra to run on your energy bill.
- Low Salt Usage: Uses just 0.35kg of salt per regeneration, making it one of the more cost-effective softeners to run.
- Compact Dimensions: 490mm (H) x 212mm (W) x 460mm (D). Fits neatly into most standard kitchen cupboards.
- High Flow Rate: Handles up to 40 litres per minute, so it's equally suited to small households and larger families.
- BSI Approved: Safe to use with aluminium heat exchange systems, so it's compatible with modern combi boilers and heating systems.
Specifications:
- Resin Volume: 8.6L (2 x 4.3L tanks)
- Salt Storage Capacity: 8kg block salt
- Operating Pressure Range: 1–8 bar
- Operating Temperature Range: Maximum 30°C
- Warranty: 5 years parts and labour
A reliable non-electric water softener that's simple to run and built to last, delivering continuous soft water without the running costs or complexity of electric alternatives.

Common questions before you buy
Everything people usually ask about fitting and filtering. Still unsure? Call 0116 276 3334.
Does the Harvey Crown F15-3SLT need electricity or batteries?
No. It runs entirely on your mains water pressure, so there's no plug, no wiring and no batteries to replace. That means nothing to add to your energy bill and one less thing to go wrong. You just top up the block salt when it runs low.
Will I still have soft water when the softener is regenerating?
Yes. The twin-tank design is the key advantage here. While one tank regenerates, the other continues to supply soft water, so you get a continuous soft water supply around the clock with no hard water gaps mid-cycle.
Will it fit in a standard kitchen cupboard?
In most cases, yes. The unit measures 490mm (H) x 212mm (W) x 460mm (D), which fits comfortably under most kitchen sinks and inside standard base units. It's worth measuring your cupboard and allowing a little room around it for the pipework before you order.
How much salt does it use and what does it cost to run?
It uses just 0.35kg of block salt per regeneration, which is low compared with many timer-based softeners. Because there's no electricity involved, the only ongoing cost is the block salt itself, which you top up periodically. Harvey block salt is included free with your order.
Can I fit it myself or do I need a plumber?
Many customers with basic plumbing confidence fit it themselves, and we offer a 15mm or 22mm fitting kit to make the connection straightforward. If you'd rather have it installed, any competent plumber can do it. The unit is a like-for-like swap for most existing softeners.
